How to get there

The nearest international airport is Thessaloniki Airport "Makedonia" (SKG). We can provide shuttle transportation from Thessaloniki the day before the wedding, and back the day after the wedding (please let us know when you RSVP). Alternatively, you can rent a car for more flexibility, or take a bus (KTEL) to Kastoria.

There are many international flights to the SKG airport from European countries, such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, the UK, and more. If you're traveling from further away, you might be able to find a connecting flight through one of those destinations.

Alternatively, if you're already in Greece, you can fly from Athens to the Kastoria National Airport "Aristotelis" (KSO), and get a taxi from there (please note Greece doesn't have Uber, see more in the FAQ below).

We can also provide transportation between the ceremony venue and the reception venue.

Accommodation

For travelers arriving from out-of-town, we can provide accommodation for the night before and the night of the wedding. The accommodation will be in a hotel at or near the reception venue, with breakfast included. Please let us know if this is something you'd be interested in when you RSVP.

Alternatively, if you'd prefer to arrange your own accommodation, Kastoria offers many hotels, guesthouses, and Airbnbs.

Things to do

If you're planning to extend your stay, here are some wonderful things to explore:

Lake Orestiada

Enjoy the stunning lake that surrounds Kastoria, perfect for a walk, coffee, or drink along the waterfront promenade.

Dragon's cave

A beautiful lakeside cave with ancient stalactites and stalagmites.

Frequently Asked Questions

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP by March 15th so we can inform the venue and arrange transport and accomodation.

What should I wear?

Feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable with! We'd suggest wearing comfortable shoes / wide heels, as the ceremony is in a small church and there will be some walking on uneven surfaces (and dancing!) Please note that the weather in June might be unpredictable. While we expect it to be sunny and warm, there's always a chance of rain.

What about gifts?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift! If you wish to give a physical or monetary gift, there will be a gift corner at the ceremony and the reception. Feel free to contact us for more information.

What food will be served?

We will be serving a variety of dishes including vegetarian options, as well as drinks. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know in your RSVP so we can accommodate you.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is parking available at both the ceremony and reception venues.

What wedding traditions should I know about?

Greek weddings include traditions such as the exchange of wedding crowns (stefana), the dance of Isaiah, and lots of dancing in general. Don't worry - we'll guide you through everything! Just be prepared to dance and celebrate with us!

Can I bring a plus one or my children?

Of course, but please let us know in advance in your RSVP!

What about accommodation?

We can provide accommodation at or near the venue for the night before and the night of the wedding. Please indicate in your RSVP if you need accommodation. See the Accommodation section above for more details.

Is there Uber or taxi service?

Please note that Uber is not fully available in Greece. There is Uber Taxi, and other taxi-focused apps (such as Free Now), but their availability can be limited. In Kastoria, we'd recommend contacting the local taxi service at +30 2467082200, or asking the hotel's reception for more information and help.

What time should I arrive?

The ceremony will begin at noon (exact time to be announced). Please try to arrive at the church 15-20 minutes early.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Absolutely! Take as many photos and videos as you like. We will also provide you with a way to share your photos with us at the end of the day.

I have another question!

For any other questions, feel free to text or call us.
